Understanding TOG Ratings

While traditional duvets use TOG ratings which measure the thermal insulation levels of duvets, wool doesn’t conform to TOG because it is a regulator of temperature. However we can use approximate TOG levels for Baavets, but wool is both cooler and warmer than a conventional duvet. Wool duvets are measured by the gram weight of wool per square metre, providing warmth and breathability superior to synthetic alternatives. This means lighter duvets for the warmer months and cosy options for the chillier times, all without sacrificing comfort. Caring for Your Baavet

To maximise the lifespan and performance of your Baavet wool duvet:

  • Air Before Use: Allow your new duvet to breathe and loft by airing it out before use, which also helps dissipate the natural lanolin scent.

  • Seasonal Airing: Because wool is naturally so clean it’s not necessary to wash your Baavet unless it is heavily soiled; in that case you should refer to cleaning recommendations. For normal use just refresh your duvet biannually by airing it outdoors on a sunny day to naturally cleanse and rejuvenate its fillings.
