Adventure, Challenge and Inspiration

Hi, Roger here,

This is Ellie, me Lesley and Josh on the top of a peak. Because Baavet isn’t just about making wool duvets and pillows.

It’s also about supporting each other as a team, and Baavet is a good team, like a family. But it’s also about a small local business, supporting other small enterprises and charities who we feel an affinity with.

Since we are a sheep farm orientated business, supporting the Border Collie Trust and Freedom of Spirit (also a Border collie trust) was an easy choice. We are sponsoring a Welsh blade sheep shearing team, that’s the old traditional art of hand shearing which is still being kept alive, mainly through competitions and displays. We are also about to support our local amateur football team in Porthmadog.

Some of the Baavet team are about to embark on a Mountain challenge. It’s a little known one; it’s a mountain traverse of the Rhinog range in South Snowdonia. It’s very rugged terrain over 7 summits of over 2000ft and almost 20 miles in length.  Josh who runs Baavet production and Ellie who is in charge of the office (you may have spoken to them on the phone ) will attempt the full challenge while me and Lesley ( Mr and Mrs Baavet) with Baavet Border collie Gem, will act as support.

The team also wanted to help raise awareness and money for the work of the Snowdonia’s Mountain Rescue Teams. All of whom are volunteers.

Me and Gwen.

Roger, Lesley, Gem and the whole Baavet team
